Whitehouse Construction are always looking for innovative ways to deliver projects in order to improve, Safety, Quality and Value for money on behalf of our clients. We were extremely pleased therefore to be nominated for the Small Projects Award at this year’s North West, Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) dinner, which was held at the Halston Hotel in Carlisle on Friday 26th February.
Our stabilisation of a landslip in Clifton, Greater Manchester caught the attention of all judges at ICE.
Works included installation of new land drainage systems, whilst a series of bank shelves were cut and the using of recycled materials throughout to stabilise this slope.
Monitoring before and during works was vitally important to ensure we could keep a close eye on slope condition. This also offered an early warning system if further slippage were to occur during construction.
Movement points, installed during construction, remain in action to assist the Forestry Commission in ongoing monitoring of this embankment.
Our Managing Director Steve McKeown said: “It was a great honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award, emphasising the exceptional work we achieve at Whitehouse. We look forward to being back at future such events”.
