Enabling improved ambulance efficiencies

Barnsley Hospital Emergency Department treats an average of 78,000 patients every year, serving a population of over a quarter of a million people in the Barnsley area.

To enable improved efficiencies for ambulance arrivals at the Emergency Department, significant external works were required, planned meticulously to maintain the health, safety & wellbeing of all Barnsley Hospital’s patients, visitors and personnel.

Supporting Barnsley Hospital

Supporting Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s goal of remaining among the leading NHS trusts in the country, we entered our project into the Considerate Constructors Scheme, scoring highly across all areas.

The new junction serving ambulance arrivals was constructed in phases, with careful consideration of existing patients and their resultant needs. Working with Barnsley Hospital staff and visitors alike, our works were highly praised for causing minimal disruption to the critical Emergency Department.

"We have forged an excellent working relationship"

It is particularly challenging because of the live environment and your on site team have surpassed our expectations in their organisation and execution of the works. We have forged an excellent working relationship and we working collaboratively together. This has engendered confidence and trust.
