200 new car parking spaces were required at Cannock Chase District Council’s Civic Centre location. Works also included drainage, remarking of circa 100 existing car parking spaces and lighting.

Fully understanding Cannock Chase’s main objective – to minimise disruption whilst ensuring high-quality delivery in a safe and efficient manner – our Contracts Manager developed robust phasing plans at Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stage. Resulting in early handover of existing car parking spaces, minimal disruption was caused to Council employees, visitors and the general public.

Our directly employed Stakeholder Liaison Officer communicated traffic management including pedestrian and vehicular diversions effectively maintaining safety throughout. Robust monitoring and review of programme and key milestones ensured each phase was completed to a high-quality standard and on time, enabling both the general public and Council employees to utilise the existing car park throughout delivery.

Effectively coordinating materials and deliveries allowed us to schedule works around peak Council Office times, and with Cannock Chase Hospital adjacent to the works, effectively planning around their deliveries was vital in ensuring minimal disruption throughout delivery.

Allocating our directly employed personnel, with experience of implementing phasing plans and communication with clients and stakeholders allowed the scheme to be completed ‘right first time, every time’ achieving best value solutions for Cannock Chase Council.
