Works have been completed at Joliffe Street in Leek on behalf of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. The retaining wall structure was rendered unsafe and therefore urgent remedial works were required. We removed existing stones, preserving them for re-use and stabilised the structure. The structure was reduced in height by two metres and anti-walk paving was introduced on the newly created embankment. The adjacent footpath was closed for safety reasons, with diversions put in place to minimise disruption. The car park above the retaining structure was reinstated, with the addition of a disabled bay and included all associated white lining, kerbing and lighting.
Scott Denny, Network Projects Planner at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council commented: “Thanks to all those involved who helped make this very tight, awkward work happen.”
